When I was a 12 year old kid, I was thrilled when we got a TV for upstairs, where my sister and I debated whether to watch reruns of “Star Trek” or “I Dream Of Jeannie” on two of the three channels we got on our 20 inch Black & White. Tucker Coombs of Shevlin has something else to debate. The 12 year old sharpshooter has to figure out which of his bedroom walls is big enough for his brand new 65″ Samsung UHD TV. It’s not that Tucker is spoiled. He’s just talented.
Tucker, a fifth grader at Bagley Elementary, became the first person in five years to put the puck in that little slot from center ice and win Paul Bunyan Communications’ Hockey Hot Shots at Saturday’s Beaver Hockey win over Bowling Green. Tucker said he was pretty nervous when he got to center ice but told himself not to shoot the puck too hard. What can we say? Tucker’s got the touch.
Congratulations, Tucker Coombs!
