United Way Surpasses Its Bold Goal!

Last fall, United Way Executive Director Denae Alamano announced that the United Way of the Bemidji Area was channeling its inner Air Force and aiming high with a goal of $525,000. Today, they’re not just aiming high, they’re flying high!

Capping today’s United Way “Give Where You Live” Celebration Luncheon, it was announced that the United Way’s campaign actually surpassed the lofty goal, with a total raised of $525,190, of which over 99 percent will stay in Bemidji.

The following awards were presented at the dinner:

Awarded to internal campaigns with a 50% or more employee participation rate and 3% increase in employee pledges over last year:

The Executive Director’s Award was given to First National Bank Bemidji and Kraus Anderson.
Jake and Melissa Bluhm were announced as the United Way Campaign Chairs for 2020.

In addition to providing funding for 24 member agencies, the United Way also runs several programs including Imagination Library, Thanksgiving meals, Backpack Buddies Food Packs, Coats For The Community, Holiday Gifts For Kids, the Apple Tree Campaign, Bridges Out Of Poverty, Senior Clean Up Day and works with the US Postal Service with the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.
